About The Artists

Biographies of our talented artists!

Home Art Designs is pleased to introduce our new mural artist. Dulce Tavares is a self-taught artist, born and raised in Sȁo Paulo, Brazil.  A professor of Microbiology and Immunology in her native country, she has lived in the US for 13  years and now resides in Charlotte, NC.  Besides being a scientist, Dulce always expressed a deep appreciation for art in its many forms. Later Dulce discovered the magic to transform environments through murals.

She enjoys all kinds of subjects, although she has a special fondness for children's themes. Dulce is also a faculty member at the Community School of the Arts in Charlotte.

Each of our artists has a long history of working professionally in the area, and each brings their own unique perspective and experience to the projects that we do.  Please view our gallery to browse the works of these talented masters.

David Merck

David has been painting and sculpting professionally since 1997. Some of his work can be seen in public places in North Carolina – most of his work is in private homes.  Before pursuing art as a career on his own, he spent 15 years in the graphic arts business. He did everything from operating large multi-color presses, film and computer graphics, supervision and customer service to vendor management. He spent his final years in the industry as a technical trainer and corporate quality manager.  His solid background in technical precision, color theory, composition and business certainly has strengthened his versatility in art and the business of art

Rosalia Torres-Weiner

A native of Mexico, Rosalia has been in the United States since 1985, and has lived in Charlotte since 1996.  She has been an active member of the Charlotte arts community since 1999, and has been featured in The Charlotte Observer, and on Charlotte radio.  Her whimsical works decorate the homes and businesses of Charlotte.  While murals are her primary medium, she also paints on wood, canvas and glass.  Her works capture the spirit and color of Mexico, and tell the stories of her adventurous life.  Rosalia founded Home Art Designs in 2000, and remains actively involved in the daily operations of the company.
